Is SAFER constantly tracking my location?
No, SAFER only displays your heart rate and location when an emergency notification is sent to dispatch, incident command, or your network monitoring station.
Will exercising trigger an alert?
No, SAFER detects acute heart rate changes associated with an emergency situation. More gradual increases due to strenuous work or exercise will not trigger an alert. The wearer also has the ability to cancel in situations where emergency support is not necessary.
How accurate is the location notification?
Using GPS/GLONASS, the location of the sender can be determined within 50 feet when outdoors.
Who responds to an emergency notification?
SAFER determines the closest first responder based on proximity and shortest travel time to the sender.
How accurate is SAFER?
The SAFER recommended heart rate monitors are within +/- 4% compared to hospital pulse oximeter.
